The MiniSonic-PSD Pig Signaller is a reliable and economical solution to identify the passage of a sphere or pig in a pipeline. It continuously sends an ultrasonic signal across the inside of the pipe and identifies the passage of a sphere or pig by the interruption to the signal. With ATEX certification this Pig Signaller can be used in hazardous areas. Suitable for pressurised pipes containing liquids and gases. This pig signaller can be used on a wide range pipeline products to track the passage of a sphere or pig. External clamp on sensors are used on liquid products and flush mounted insertion probes are required on gas pipelines.

Ability to measure most pipe diameters. This pig signaller measures pipe diameters from 100mm to 1500mm OD with either clamp-on or wetted probes.
The external clamp on probes (without any contact with the liquid) enable quick, easy and low cost installation. The integrity of the pipe is not jeopardised and flow is not disrupted by a shut-down. There are no moving parts maintenance is not an issue. With no intrusion in the pipe, there are no pressure drops or turbulence created.
The insertion probes required for a gas pipeline are flange mounted. This ensures the tip of the insertion probe is flush with the pipe. This ensures that there is no obstruction in the pipeline and the sensor doesn’t get damaged in the pigging process. The installation cost of retrofitting this pig signaller to a pipeline is a fraction of the cost of installing a full bore system. It can be performed with hot tapping equipment to maintain continuous supply.
High speed continuous measurement enables pigs and spheres to be detected up to a speed of 10m/s and has the capability to identify the passing of two or more pigs passing in quick succession or spheres rolling in tandem. This pig signaller will even identify the pig or sphere travelling in the reverse direction. This can be important when there is a blockage during the pigging process. The ultrasonic technology introduces a number of significant improvements over mechanical pig signallers.
Low maintenance, with no moving parts there is no routine maintenance required to ensure the reliability of this equipment.
Ability to be powered with low voltage DC this pig signaller can be used at remote sites operating on 12 or 24 Volt DC power supply. Requires 9 – 36 Volts DC. Other options available.
Connectivity – with two 4-20mA outputs and a serial link with MODBUS protocol this pig signaller is perfect for integration with instrument panels and pipeline telemetry systems.
